Project Development

Every project starts with a feedstock, but to realize it, a business model and a financing plan is necessary. We already get involved at this early stage. We develop petrochemical projects from the ground up and involve all the partners who are important for our customers, from the supplier to the consumer. And we get them all involved in aiming for the same objective. In this way we ensure that your project is cost-effective and can be executed professionally. Therefore, we are taking care of the integration of partners, tailor made financial solutions for the project, the structuring of a special purpose company (SPC) as well as of EPC contracting to make strategic investment and a long term commitment possible.

In many cases our clients have a resource such as gas and need a concept how to monetize such resource. Main features of our work as project developer are the:

  • Analysis of Resources
  • Identification of Potential Monetization Concepts
  • Definition of Basic Success Parameters / Comparison of Concepts
  • Conduct of Feasibility Studies and Financial Modelling
  • Market Studies
  • Partner Selection for Required Technologies
  • Development of Procurement Strategies compatible with Finance Structures especially Requirements of Export Credit Agencies (ECAs)
  • Elaboration Early Works / FEED Packages for Fast Track Implementation
  • Development of Project Implementation Concepts for the Engineering, Procurement and Construction of the Plants (EPC / EPCM and other Models)
  • Establishment of Equity and Debt Finance Structures
  • Arrangement of Long Term Product Off-take Agreements and
  • Long term operation of the Plant
  • Training of Staff

Typically the project development is a multi-staged and iterative process in which the plant configuration, the partnering, the financing  and all other key elements get specified to a higher level of detail in each iteration with the financial close and start of engineering and physical works as ultimate result. For example one very detailed process is the integration of partners where a complex project contracting structure comes into play.
